By flight 

If you are traveling from Chennai to Kotagiri, then you can simply take a flight to Coimbatore Airport first. It hardly takes about three to three and a half hours to reach Tamil Nadu. From here you will get rental cabs that will take you to your destination. This is the easiest and fastest way to reach Tamil Nadu. 

Night train 

You can also take a train from Chennai to Tamil Nadu. However, the journey takes about 9 hours approximately to reach one's destination. Of course, from the train station, you will get cabs to take you to the resort. 

By a Drive

You can also drive your way to the resort in Kotagiri which takes about 7 hours along the highways. This is the time you need for non-stop travel however if you halt in the middle for tea, the time is calculated accordingly.

How to reach

By bus 

You will find luxurious Volvo buses from Chennai to Coonoor. It takes about 10 to 11 hours to travel a distance of 540 km to the beautiful landscape valley. Hence the overnight bus rides are the best. 

By car

You can also drive for 10 hours to reach your destination in Coonoor. Move along the Chennai - Villupuram - Trichy - Kanyakumari Rd and NH79 to reach the hills. 

By flight 

Since there is no direct flight to Coonoor, you need to get off at the Coimbatore Airport first. From here Coonoor is still 181 km away. So you need to take a cab and travel along the NH 81 route to reach your destination.
