I have always been dreamy about a few places, Nathuakhan being one of them! Last time I came here, I heard about the big red flowers that Blossom in summers from local Kumaoni women selling squash made from these flowers. And this time, I was greeted by those Rhododendrons, Gorgeous Fiery Red Flowers through the snaky bends :) They did take my breath away!!
Also, I am a big fan of people here in the hills. I have personally had tea in some local homes on the way to treks and a conversation of 15 mins sprinkled with compassion and happiness, caused them to embrace me and not take any money for the refreshing cup of tea that they helped me with. So, looking for an authentic real homestay is a natural extension of that Love. That search brought me to this quaint homestay. Quite a story of why and how this got built! You must scroll down to hear it from Chetan, the man who gave up the shiny dream of big cities for the Soulful touch of the Majestic Mountains
One big highlight from my stay and conversation with Chetan was the fact that the main block with four rooms made with stones is Hand-made. Unlike Bricks which are symmetrical and can just be placed one on top of the other, this local stone construction took a year and half and the masons who were from the Village chose each stone and placed in a way almost like how we place together a puzzle board
