Story of the Stay:

The Coorg Plantation Retreat is perched in the Hill station of Coorg, the Coffee plantation surrounds this Resort along with other greenery. This three-bedroom Resort is a wonderful pick for a staycation or weekend getaway with your loved ones. This traditional Mangalore-style villa on the Harangi Backwaters is a must-visit for all those wanting a break from a routine lifestyle.

Entering the private estate brings you face-to-face with the glistening, gleaming backwaters, acres of trees and greenery, and a beautiful Mangalore-tiled, traditional-looking homestead. Perfect for 2-3 small families or couples, the home is surrounded by a traditional verandah, leading to a large airy living room. With a fireplace at one end of the hall, high ceilings, and wooden banisters all around, it feels like a walk into the deeper reaches of the jungle.

One bedroom is located on the ground floor of the home and offers endless views of the vast coffee plantations. As you make your way to the first floor, you walk past the 2-bedrooms overlooking the verdant greenery. The backwaters can be seen from all the nooks of the home. Walk along the cobbled pathway to the stairs that take you to the backwaters for an invigorating start to the day... There's an interesting walking trail where you'll find some unique flora and fauna.

What we Love:

Food:

The Coorg Plantation Retreat boasts its Mangalorian cuisine prepared by the in-house chef. They offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Four meals including breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are provided. Tea/ Coffee is served with breakfast and evening snacks however, if the guests would like to have it during any other time of the day, it is available at additional charges. The stay has a preset menu but the guests can also inform the Stay about their meal preferences. The stay offers free meals for kids below the age of six

Upma, Kadamabutti Chutney Appam - Egg Roast / Vegetable Stew, Kerala Puttu & Kadala (Peas) Curry, Idiyappam & Vegetable Stew / Egg Roast, Dosa Sambar-Chutney, Idli-Sambar-Chutney, Medu Wada Sambar-Chutney, Rice, Roti, Coconut Chutney Bread, Butter & Jam Tea / Coffee Hot Milk Watermelon / Papaya / Banana Eggs to order (sunny side up/ runny/ scrambled/ masala omelette)

Lunch/ Dinner:

Veg Meal – 1 Veg dry + 1 Veg gravy + Bread + 1 Rice + 1 Dal + 1 Dessert OR Non-Veg - 1 Veg dry + 1 Non-Veg gravy + Bread + 1 Rice + 1 Dal + 1 Dessert (Veg dry dish is common for both)

Apart from the above menu, the guests can also order other dishes from the menu.

Courteous Staff:

The Coorg Plantation Retreat is known for its hospitality and guest satisfaction. The staff are cordial and friendly, they speak English and Hindi. A caretaker is available on-site to address any requirements of the guests. They also provide luggage assistance.

Hygiene:

The Stay is well maintained. The rooms are cleaned every day and the bedding and pillows are neat and crisp. The guests can enjoy a safe and hygienic stay at the Coorg Plantation Retreat. The common areas such as the dining and living are cleaned regularly. The meals are prepared and served in extremely hygienic conditions.
